Scotland- FAQ’s

Is Kidz Scotland free to attend?
Yes, entry is free for all visitors. Tickets are sent out to everyone on our mailing list approximately six weeks before the event. The ticket will also be available to download from www.kidzscotland.co.uk. The registration slip is on the back of the ticket and completing it and bringing it with you will save time at registration on the day.  We are more than happy to post tickets out to you, please contact info@disabledliving.co.uk or 01616078200. You do not need to bring a ticket to attend as you can register upon arrival.

Who is this event for?

Kidz Scotland is an event for children and young adults with disabilities and additional needs, their families, carers and professionals.
What is on offer?
Gain access to 100+ exhibitors offering advice and information on funding for equipment, mobility, seating, bathing, transport, sensory, transition, education, communication, legal matters, sports, leisure and much, much more!
A programme of FREE CPD and topical seminars will run alongside the exhibition – see the full time table in the guide. Topics include; sleep issues, continence, sensory, moving and handling, transition, legal matters (including recent changes to SEN and the Families and Children’s ACT) and much more.

What time is Kidz Scotland on?
Kidz Scotland is open between 9am and 4.30pm.

Do I have to register at 9am and stay for the full day?
No – You can call in at any point during the day and stay for as long as you like. You can also return at your leisure and there will be no need to re-register.
Is this event suitable for children?
Absolutely! Kidz Scotland is the perfect opportunity for children to come and test equipment. Children are also more than welcome to attend the seminars.
Is there a crèche?
Kidz Scotland does not offer crèche facilities.
Is there a cash machine?
A cash machine is available on-site, by the east gate. To help you find it, click here to view a map of the site.
Can I visit as a student?
All students are welcome.
Eating and Drinking
There are a couple of catering points at the Royal Highland Centre where you can purchase hot and cold food and drinks. Please see the floor plan for full details. There is also a range of soft drinks, crisps and confectionery available from the onsite vending machine.
Travelling to the Venue
Where does Kidz Scotland take place?
Kidz Scotland takes place in The Highland Hall, The Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh.
What is the best way to get to the venue?
The Royal Highland Centre is on the west side of Edinburgh, located next to Edinburgh Airport, within minutes of the M8 and M9 and in easy reach of the city centre.
By Car –
The Royal Highland Centre sits off Glasgow Road (A8) between Newbridge roundabout and the A8/Airport roundabout, one of the main routes into the city.
Access to the Royal Highland Centre is from A8/Airport roundabout on to Eastfield Road. From there signposts provide directions to the venue along Fairview Road onto Ingliston Road.

Where can I park?
The Royal Highland Centre has parking for 20,000 vehicles across three car parks. On the day of Kidz Scotland, signage will direct you to the best car park.
There are a number of accessible parking spaces for wheelchair users.
By Bus –
From Edinburgh, Lothian Buses run regular services including the 48, 35 and the Airport Express (100). All buses run regularly and drop-off close to the Centre itself.

The Stagecoach Jet747 bus service from Fife will drop visitors off outside the Royal Highland Centre.Click here for more information.
Citylink also operate services with drop-offs on the A8 close to the Royal Highland Centre. For more information, click here.
By Rail –
Haymarket is the nearest train station with excellent train links across the UK.

Lothian Buses run regular services stopping outside Haymarket Station and dropping off adjacent to the Centre. Call Lothian Buses on  0131 555 6363 for more information.
Or, why not hop in a taxi?

Taxis are plentiful outside Haymarket station and there is a transfer time of around 15/20 minutes to the Royal Highland Centre.
By Air –
The Royal Highland Centre is situated adjacent to Edinburgh Airport.
Is there accommodation nearby?
The Holiday Inn Express Hotel is an award winning hotel located at the North Gate of the Royal Highland Centre.
The Hilton Edinburgh Airport Hotel is located on Eastfield Road next to Edinburgh Airport and a ten minute walk to the Royal Highland Centre.
The Edinburgh Marriott Hotel is located a 5 minute drive from the Royal Highland Centre along the A8 on Glasgow Road.
The Norton House Hotel & Spa, is an award winning 4 red star hotel and is a 2 minute drive opposite the Royal Highland Centre.

Are you offering seminars?
Yes, Kidz Scotland offers a full seminar programme on issues of interest to parents, carers and professionals. Children are welcome to attend.
Will the seminars be free?
Yes, all seminars are free of charge.

Do the seminars count towards CPD?

Certificates of attendance are available to boost your portfolios
Do I need a ticket to attend?
No, all seminars are ticketless and space is available on a first come, first served basis. Seminar presentations tend to be very popular so arrive early to get your seat!
