abacus team and kidz to adultz

Abacus Specialist Bathroom Solutions, the trusted manufacturer of assisted baths for young bathers with disabilities, will be exhibiting its Gemini and Scorpio accessible baths at the relocated Kidz to Adultz South exhibition.

New venue! Thursday 17th May 2018, 9.30am – 4.30pm, Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre, Hall 1 (access via Gate F), Etps Rd, Farnborough. GU14 6FD. Stand E1. Free entry and parking.

Kidz to Adultz South has moved from Reading this year and will be held at a more spacious Farnborough-based venue with enhanced facilities. With extra capacity, more young people with disabilities, families and healthcare professionals will be able to see and experience the latest assistive products and services. As part of the exhibition’s invaluable showcase, Abacus will be presenting two of its specialist baths – namely the Gemini and Scorpio.

The Gemini is a powered assisted solution with a unique double lift action and integrated changing, drying and bathing platform. It provides advanced comfort and safety for bathers and carers by reducing transfers and offering better support through specialist postural accessories. Ideal for users with more restricted mobility, the Scorpio is a compact bathing solution with powered bather transfer seat and optional hi-lo technology.

As a proven specialist manufacturer, Abacus hopes to repeat the success it achieved at Kidz to Adultz Middle during March.

Its experienced and friendly advisors received a significant number of assessment requests and product enquiries throughout the whole event – they will be ready again at Kidz South to discuss individual bathing needs on a one-to-one basis. Free guides to ownership and funding will be available for families.

In terms of educational content specifically for professionals, there will be details of the free ‘Lunch and Learn’ safe assisted bathing courses provided by Abacus and its forthcoming CPD accredited training. Led by Kate Sheehan, a highly experienced and respected OT, this new programme will count to compulsory CPD hours and provide vital insight regarding bathing care.

The chance to win a cuddly toy version of the Abacus mascot, Trevor the Turtle, will also be available for children visiting Kidz to Adultz South.
